Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Matebricks Softwares (“we,” “us”) operates Covey Browser for Windows and Android, and related websites. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use Covey and our download sites, and what choices you have.
1. Browsing data on your device
Most of what you do in Covey stays on your device unless you choose to sync or share it elsewhere:
- Local storage: Browsing history, bookmarks, saved passwords, cookies, and site data are stored on your device by default.
- No browsing history on our servers: We do not receive a log of the pages you visit through normal browsing.
- No account required: Covey does not require a Matebricks account to use the browser.
2. Data the application may send
To keep Covey secure, up to date, and working reliably, the application or its updater may contact Matebricks or third-party services. Depending on your version and platform, this can include:
- Update checks: The updater (for example
CoveyUpdater.exe) or in-app update flow may check GitHub or our CDNs for new releases. These requests typically include standard HTTP metadata (such as user agent and IP address as seen by the server). - Filter list updates: Covey Shield may download ad-blocking filter lists from our servers or community lists. These requests are for list content, not your browsing history.
- Diagnostics: Crash reports, error logs, or limited usage metrics may be collected where enabled by the build or platform (for example through Microsoft Store or system crash reporting). We use this information to fix bugs and improve stability, not to sell your browsing activity.
- Microsoft Store: If you install from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft’s privacy policy and telemetry practices for Store apps also apply.
We do not sell your personal browsing history. If we change what the app collects in a material way, we will update this policy and, where required, notify you in the app or on this page.
3. Network activity when you browse
When you open a website, Covey connects directly to that site (and any resources it loads), like other Chromium-based browsers. We do not route your ordinary page loads through Matebricks servers unless a feature you enable explicitly does so.
4. Information collected on our websites
When you visit our sites (for example matebricks.com or softwares.matebricks.com) to learn about or download Covey:
- Download counter: We use Firebase to maintain an aggregate count of downloads. This counter is not designed to identify individual visitors.
- Server and security logs: Hosting providers may log IP addresses, browser type, request time, and similar technical data for security, abuse prevention, and operations.
- Cookies and local storage: Our sites may use cookies or browser storage for basic functionality (for example remembering that you accepted terms). Third-party embeds, if any, are governed by their own policies.
5. Third-party search engines and sites
Covey lets you choose search providers (such as DuckDuckGo, Brave Search, or Google). Queries you submit are sent to the provider you select. Those services have their own privacy policies; we do not control how they handle your searches.
Websites you visit may use cookies, trackers, and analytics independent of Covey. Built-in blocking may reduce some of this, but site operators remain responsible for their own practices.
6. Data security
Data stored locally on your device is protected by your operating system and how you secure your device (password, encryption, screen lock). We encourage you to keep your system and Covey updated and to use strong device security.
7. Children
Covey is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the browser or this site.
8. Marketing statements
Marketing on our website (for example claims about speed, being “built for the elite,” or comparisons to other browsers) is promotional and not a warranty or guarantee of performance. Actual results depend on your hardware, network, and configuration.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Covey after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy, unless applicable law requires additional consent.
